The SAKO W.t.E. plant was put into operation in 1984. The establishment remained in operation in a basically unchanged form until 2008 when, based on a decision of the operator, a complete renovation of the plant began in order to improve environmental and economic parameters of the operation. The SAKO company received a partial subsidy for the realization of the project from a so-called EU cohesion fund.

Demonstration of Liebherr 22 HM arranged by Kranimex Ltd. and LSC Brno took part at 10 places in the Czech Republic in the time between September 29th and October 10th 2008.

Liebherr-Africa (Pty.) Ltd. has been awarded together with Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH an order for twelve new Liebherr tower cranes which are being used on the construction of the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town for the 2010 Football World Cup. Seven more Liebherr tower cranes come from the fl eets of the companies Murray&Roberts Construction and WBHO Construction (Pty) Ltd. which make up the joint venture carrying out the construction of the stadium.

The 200 DR 5/10 Litronic special crane will be used in Moscow for dismantling tower cranes on the Federation Tower at a height of more than 250 m. The derrick crane has no trouble dismantling tower cranes in the 300-mt-plus lifting capacity category. On the Federation Tower, the derrick crane will dismantle and lower luffing jib cranes of the 160 HC-L 8/12 Litronic and 355 HC-L 16/32 Litronic upon completion of the tower.

Derrick cranes are principally suitable for hoisting extremely heavy loads, and are used as stationary installations for the cantilevered construction of steel bridges, the construction of tall buildings with a steel skeleton frame or for special dismantling tasks.
